Description

Le Crépuscule, a dark and narcotic version of L’Air Du Temps by Nina Ricci

This is the description of this phenomenon in the dictionary. Nevertheless, Nina Ricci decided to perceive it with a much more poetic eye and to register it in the lineage of one of her most famous perfumes. At the end of 2016, the brand decided to transform the iconic essence L’Air Du Temps , created in 1948, into a version called Twilight. This one is described as being a kind of olfactory sunset, at the same time narcotic, rich and sumptuous.

A new Nina Ricci in collaboration with Calice Becker

To make this unique juice , the house Nina Ricci called on the perfumer Calice Baker. This is one of the most famous noses on the planet, having already collaborated with many niche brands as with giants of the luxury world. Each of his creations is charged with a very poetic impulse, and guided by his unusual artistic instinct. Here, she chose to tame a flower of the night, a plant known to deliver its sultry scent only after day has fallen. This is accompanied by carnation, a plant used in very small quantities because it is very opulent and famous for its multiple facets, both floral, spicy or pink. The ylang-ylang then completes the whole with its sweet, more fruity and almost leathery flavor. This ingredient from a shrub from Madagascar enriches the floral accord of L’Air Du Temps Le Crépuscule here and its scent reveals a breath close to that of jasmine. Finally, it all ends with warm and exotic scents of vanilla, letting a soft and balsamic cloud float behind it.

The new design of the L’Air Du Temps Le Crépuscule bottle

Initially, L’Air Du Temps was presented in a case in the shape of an oval sun. This one displayed a radiant and fluid silhouette expressing the freedom regained after the war. The cap of this perfume was then engraved with a dove. Also, it was in 1951 that this bird took on another dimension on this bottle. Indeed, it has been completely redesigned by Marc Lalique. This glass-making genius of the last century designed a bottle adorned with two chiseled doves flying above a crystal swirl. Very quickly, this new setting became legendary. It is a kind of allegory of love and tenderness, symbolizing universal happiness. Also, with the creation of L’Air Du Temps Le Crépuscule, it is delivered to us in a slightly modified format. If its shape remains the same, its color has however evolved. Formerly transparent, it is now embellished with an intense and dark blue. Thus, L’Air Du Temps Le Crépuscule echoes a sky gradually taken over by night. The wings of the doves, on the other hand, were completely covered with feathers. This eccentricity is the work of Maison Lemar. The whole is absolutely captivating, at the same time very harmonious while being charged with mystery.
